Services / DEV-01

Custom CMS development.

Contao and WordPress sites built from your design, with the structure your editors need and none of the page-builder weight.

01 / Overview

Built for the people who edit it.

Most websites are edited every week by someone who is not a developer. We build for that person. Content goes into native CMS elements, images carry their alt text in the file library, and links point at pages by ID so they survive a renamed URL.

The design can come from your own team, your agency, or from Bright Cloud Studio. We turn it into templates and components that hold up when the content changes.

02 / What's included

  • Design files (Penpot, Figma or a PDF comp) turned into a working CMS build
  • Custom themes, templates and content elements
  • Reusable components with a style guide page to check them on
  • Isotope and WooCommerce stores: catalogs, variants, checkout, payments
  • Forms in the form builder, so validation, storage and email are handled
  • Launch with redirects from the old site, legal pages and analytics behind consent

03 / How it runs

Design in, tested site out.

Each page is built from a written spec rather than clicked together, so the build can be rerun, reviewed and handed to another developer.

01

Measure the design

Type scale, spacing, colors and every component are pulled from the design file before any page is built.

02

Build the components

Shared parts are built once and checked on a style guide page.

03

Build page by page

Each page is compared with its design and checked at phone, tablet and desktop widths as it is built.

04

Launch

Backups, redirects, a form test and a final pass on a staging copy before the switch.

04 / From recent work

Recent builds.

  • A 20-page Contao 5.7 site for a retirement plan firm, built with Bright Cloud Studio. Rebuilding the base components first cut design review issues by about 37% (678 against 1,067), and it passed 150 of 150 mobile checks.
  • A Contao 5.7 marketing site built from a Penpot design, with every page checked against its board on desktop and at 200px steps on mobile.
  • A curriculum publisher's WooCommerce store rebuilt on native WordPress blocks: plugins cut from 14 to 2.
